22nd December 2015

We have a full complement of Volunteers at the moment but do still apply for one of the various tasks listed below. We are trying to build up a reserve list of Volunteers to cover holidays, illness and retirement.

Registrar.  The registrars work on Thursday afternoons for about 2 hours, just once every 6 weeks. They receive and prepare the wallets ready for the weekend recordings.

Editor. Editors work son Thursday or Fridays for about 4 hours, just once every 6 weeks. They edit the newspaper ready for the Readers to read on Saturday or Sunday. Training will be provided.

Reader. Readers work in teams of 3 or 4 to read the newspaper articles for recording once every 6 weeks. Readers will need to audition before taking on the role.

Copier/Dispatcher. Work together to copy the memory sticks, insert them in the wallets and then post them to the Listeners.

These tasks are not arduous but they are vital to allow the system to work. Training for all posts will be provided and you will join a Team of about 60 dedicated Volunteers who are committed to providing the weekly news from the local papers to about 100 Blind and Partially sighted Listeners.

If you think you can take on one of these tasks, or know someone who might be interested, please email
vacancies@exmouthtalkingnewspaper.org or use the contact form on the home page.
